Five Elements in Practice
From religion to secular activity
In today’s world, meditation has lost much of its religiosity, and has become a secular activity with modern attributes. These modern attributes have been shaped by distinct purposes: liberating oneself from environmental stress, attaining spiritual balance, and focusing better on daily tasks rather than performing roles as masters and disciples of a science. Practicing meditation can’t get any easier.
Meditation benefits: natural and medical
Meditation techniques aim to draw attention and awareness to your thoughts in order to bring them under control. When your mind stays positive, or even when your level of critical thinking remains in balance, then the emotional burden, stress, and all feelings which can be attributed to negativity disappear. Meditation brings mental health, a calm mind, good concentration, and clarity of perception. Also it helps with the improvement of communication skills, inner strength, emotional healing, and the ability to connect to an inner source of energy, relaxation, and rejuvenation. On a regular basis, meditation lowers high blood pressure, decreases any tension-related pain, such as headaches, ulcers, insomnia, muscle, and joint problems.
Five Elements Plan
We provide online meditation classes five days a week. Each day has its particularity: Mondays are designed for Air, Tuesdays for Cosmos, Wednesdays for Earth, Thursdays for Fire, and Fridays for Water. We recommend you to meditate in the morning or, as a second option, in the evening, since mid-day meditation takes longer for the results to become evident. Scheduling your sessions wisely is the key to practicing meditation.
How to Meditate
There are several ways to meditate, but we recommend you either to sit on a yoga mat on the floor or sit on a straight chair. There will be five mantras, and you may choose one for each time of meditation.
- Put on your earphones, sit in any of the positions listed above, and listen to the mantra of the element you would like to meditate for.
- Repeat the mantra 108 times while it is shown on the screen. Visualizing the mantra will help you memorize it.
- You can close or open your eyes depending on the way you feel more comfortable.
- If your eyes are open, you can visualize a particular point on the wall in order to improve concentration.
